Follow the steps below on how to apply at TVET colleges in South Africa.

  • First visit the desired TVET college website or coltech
  • Write a placement test (This is compulsory in other TVET colleges)
  • Click on the "Apply" tab (After you have written your placement test)
  • Fill in your personal details, next of kin details and your results
  • Choose the courses you want to apply for
  • Upload the certified and scanned documents (your ID copy, your matric certificate or grade 9/10/11 final report, your parent/next of kin ID copy and proof of residence)

Majority of South African TVET colleges use the coltech platform to allow applicants to do the online application. If a particular TVET college uses the coltech platform, the application process will slightly be different. Follow the steps below on how to apply at TVET colleges in South Africa using the coltech platform.

  • You can either start by choosing the course you want to apply for or by registering an account
  • Fill in your personal details, next of kin details and your results
  • Upload the certified and scanned documents
  • With the coltech platform, you wont receive a student number after submitting your online application.

Please note that all the TVET colleges that use the coltech platform require the same password and username. For example if you have applied at Esayidi college and now you want to apply at Majuba college, you will use the same login details.

Username is your ID number. Don't forget to write the placement test before or after the online application. Your application will not be considered if you have not written the placement test.

If you didn’t apply during the main application period, 2025 late applications provide a valuable opportunity to enrol in your desired course. However, spaces are often limited, so it’s crucial to act quickly and follow the process carefully. Applications received after the deadline will unfortunately not be considered. Take charge of your future by  applying early.
